We are pleased to invite you back to the Sunrise Ranch for the 2013 North American Tang Shou Tao Annual Conferences. This year we will gather again in Loveland, Colorado at a foothill mountain resort that provides the opportunity to train, share meals and camp together. Please see below for information regarding each conference. To attend these events, your NATSTA dues must be current.
We are happy to announce that Li Runxi will be joining us this year to train us in Shanxi Xingyi and prepare for NATSTA participation in his father Li Guichang’s centennial celebration in Taiyuan in February, 2014. We will also have as a special guest from Taiwan Yu Jianhua, son of the famous bonesetter Yu Wentong.
Please be aware we are changing the days of the conference this year to run from a weekend to a weekend to allow more time for travel as well as adding an extra day of training.
ACCOMMODATIONS AND MEALS:
The Sunrise Ranch offers a number of different lodging options for conference participants. There are different types of rooms at different price levels. The choices for lodging are:
Single room: $122
Double room: $99
Triple room: $88
Dorm room (up to 5 people): $81 (only four dorm rooms available)
Camping: $64
Commuter rate: $45
Children 3-10 $45
Children 0-3 no charge
All prices are per-person per-night, and include towels, sheets, soap, shampoo, & all meals. The ranch can accommodate any of your dietary needs with prior notice. Please call the Sunrise Ranch at (877) 786-0078 to reserve your accommodations. Please be aware that, as last year, you are responsible for making your own room reservations, and the cost of lodging is not included in your conference registration fee.
Most of the rooms are upstairs on the second floor, and the ranch does not have an elevator. Handicap-accessible rooms require prior notification. Sunrise does not have A/C but each room is provided with fans.
All accommodations have shared bathrooms. European style allows for appropriate privacy. Please bring a robe with you.
Dorms are configured with a short hallway and two rooms—one of which has 2 single beds the other of which has 3 single beds. Unless otherwise requested, dorms will be assigned according to gender. Given that there are two separate rooms with a door in each dorm however, it is conceivable that each dorm could be co-ed.
Be advised that, generally, only AT&T cell phones will work at the ranch. Visit Sunrise Ranch to explore the property and its facilities. See attached sheet for additional information.

PROMOTION:
Instructors recommending students for promotion must fill out, sign, and send in a promotion request form separate from that student’s registration. A promotion form can be downloaded from the NATSTA website. Students who are being promoted must pay the appropriate promotion fees with their registration. If you are a Member or an Assistant Instructor and feel that you are ready for promotion, you must coordinate with your Instructor to ensure that the appropriate forms are completed and submitted by your Instructor on time. Please be aware that the promotion fee is not considered a guarantee of promotion and you must attend the Conference and banquet to be promoted. For information on specific requirements for Assistant Instructor and Instructor in each art contact the relevant Committee Chairperson:
Shen Long Xingyiquan—Jason Heller psycle13@hotmail.com
Liang Zhenpu Baguazhang–-Sean Orlando sean.orlando@gmail.com
Gao Yisheng Baguazhang–-Neil Clark chansujing@gmail.com
Requirements for promotion to Assistant Instructor: Attend Martial Conference; pass TCM Level I exam; forms review by qualified reviewer prior to Martial Conference; pay promotion fee of $150.
Requirements for promotion to Instructor: Attend Martial Conference; pass TCM Level II exam; forms review by qualified reviewer prior to Martial Conference; pay promotion fee of $250.
Forms review for promotion should be conducted PRIOR to the date of the Martial Conference. We realize, however, that this is not always possible and arrangements can be made to conduct forms review at the Conference, if necessary. You will need to coordinate with your Instructor to have this review performed by a qualified reviewer, other than your primary Instructor.
The fee for Assistant Instructors or Instructors receiving a certificate in an additional art will be $100.00. If the certificate represents a promotion, the fees above will apply. For example, if you have an AI certificate in Shen Long Xingyi and are now getting an AI certificate for Liang Zhenpu Bagua you only pay $100.00 instead of $150.00; if you have an AI certificate in Shen Long Xingyi and are now getting an I certificate for Liang Zhenpu Bagua you will pay the full $250 promotion fee.
